In Japan, some 6000 years ago, a unique style of color-dying cloth was invented known as “Shibori”.

There are an infinite number of ways in which cloth can be bound, stitched, folded, twisted, or compressed in this ancient art form, and each method results in very unique, and interesting patterns.

However, the true essence of the art form comes from understanding the synergy between the fabric being dyed and the the ink being used.

This art form relies on harmony and requires an intricate knowledge of how the technique and materials combine to produce these fascinating and eye-catching patterns.
